When the company was founded, Sanford was a citrus farming community. Chase & Company's first expansion was the purchase of several orange groves. The founders, Sydney and Joshua Chase, were dedicated to meeting the needs of the community and their farming business. The company's fertilizers helped increase citrus production and made Sanford the largest orange shipping point in the State of Florida.
Soon afterwards, Chase & Company became actively involved with vegetable crops on the lower east coast. They also began several celery crops in the Sanford area. The company developed new fertilizers that turned the small celery business into a huge local industry.
As Central Florida changed from a farming region into a residential area, Sunniland responded to the community's needs. New fertilizers were developed for home lawns and gardens.
Today, Sunniland continues to build on its century of experience. We continue to make the reliable products that we've made for decades. In the tradition of our founders, we continue to research and develop new products to meet the needs of our growing - and thriving - community.
Integrity, reliability, excellence, and tradition. That is Sunniland.
